If you are here on my site then you obviously know how absolutely amazing the ragdoll breed is. They have the most endearing beautiful blue eyes that just melt your heart every time that they look at you. Their personalities are why they have the name ragdoll. They fall limp into your arms, and sprawl out on the floor belly up and all four legs stretched in all directions.
They will follow you around from room to room like they can't live without you. They lift your spirits whenever your going through a hard time or are just sad. Their medium-long fur coat is so soft it is almost like rabbit fur to the touch, they require little to no grooming. Ragdolls tend to shed a LITTLE just like most other animals during spring and fall. The great thing about the ragdoll is that their fur is so soft that is very easy to pick up and a damp hand will take the fur off of your clothes.
Ragdolls are a pretty large breed with males reaching 15-20 pounds, females around 5 pounds less. They adjust very well in homes with children and dogs, they are a very go with the flow kind of cat. Some even call ragdolls the dog cat with their dog like personality. You can train them to fetch or even walk on leashes. They are extremely loyal and dependant animals and will need almost constant companionship from either humans or other animals. Ragdolls are truly one of the most amazing companions you could ever ask for and grow a very strong bond with their families.
Ragdolls are a very laid back breed of cats and should be inside cats only! If you take them outside they should be on a secure leash with the proper preventative vaccinations and flea medication.
